New Prayer Requests

  • Cathy Burris fell at home again and has a broken collarbone and a brain bleed. She’s been in and out of OU ER with complications but is now home again. She also has a respiratory infection. Please pray for her pain and recovery. Pray for John as he cares for her.

  • Sharon Daniels will be admitted to memory care hospital at the recommendation of her neurologist for further treatment and testing. Pray for her and John as they are separated during this time, that the Lord would give them peace.

  • Nell Head’s brother, Vance, fell and broke his spine. He has had surgery. Pray for his recovery.

  • Cory and Kamry Pruitt are grieving a preganancy loss. Additionally, Cory was laid off due to a reduction in force by his employer. Pray for Kamry’s physical healing as well as their whole family during this difficulty season. Pray for the Lord to bring peace and comfort, as well as a new job for Cory.

  • Pray for students and teachers as they gear up to go back to school.

Ongoing Requests

  • Jeffery and Belinda Yesslith’s son, Aurelius, is in basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, with the National Guard. Please pray for his experience and for his parents.

  • Please pray for Linda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • Walker Moore, missionary and Baptist Messenger columnist, passed away on June 26. Be in prayer for his family.

  • The Just’s nephew, Jason, is in prison. Please pray Colossians 1:9-10 over him. He professes Christ and wants to live for Him during incarceration.

  • Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 19), is not in contact with family and they are concerned for him.  Please pray for safety, that he has somewhere to stay & is working, & for his future.

  • The Leatherwoods request prayer for their relationship with their son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Cory.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Stan Kitchell will move both of his parents to Harbor Chase on May. Pray for Stan and his parents as they make these difficult transitions. His parents have been married 71 years and want to stay together as long as possible.

  • Terry Mason is scheduled to have his right knee replacement on October 12.

  • Charlotte Wittner blacked out with a possible seizure. Pray for her treatment.

  • Sam Wittner has torn a shoulder muscle and may need surgery. Because he struggles to walk using two canes he will have great difficulty getting around, even in a wheelchair. He also has a respiratory infection. He and Charlotte need prayers and encouragement.

  • Kelli Brantley’s teenage niece, Sophie, was having cardiac issues but doctors were able to find a medication that will control her rapid heartbeat and she was released from the hospital.

  • Tom Clanton had foot surgery and will have to use a knee scooter. Please pray for a quick recovery and for Gail and she cares for him.

  • Karen Davis had a procedure to check her infection. There are surgical options, but she doesn’t like them. Pray for her healing and for wisdom for her doctors.

  • Wilma Cude still has an infection in one lung, but it is shrinking with new medication.

  • Sherrill Sageser is trying a new medication for his severe back pain. He’s now recovering from a urinary procedure. Also, the cause of his tremors is due to Lewy body dementia, but he couldn’t tolerate the prescribed medication. He sees his neurologist this week. Please pray something can help him as he’s depressed about how all these issues are coming at once.

  • Pray for Lindsey and Kyle Bardwell as they are grieving the loss of her pregnancy. Pray for Lindsey’s physical healing and for the emotional healing of each member of their family.

  • Pray for Roman Jones, infant son of David and Nadine. Roman was diagnosed with moderate-severe hearing loss and fitted for hearing aids. Pray for an easy adjustment to using hearing devices for baby Roman. Pray for his parents as they learn what they need to know to help their baby.

  • Sagesers’ grandson, Aaron, has a broken collarbone. Pray for a quick healing before he starts back to college in August.

  • Monica Janacek suffered a spontaneous coronary artery dissection. She is home. Pray for her continued healing. Also, pray for her and Josh as they grieve the death of their son.

  • Mary Kitchell’s small brain tumors have disappeared, and her large ones have shrunk. Praise the Lord! She is still not eating well and is very weak from losing so much weight. Pllease keep her and Stan in your prayers.

  • Lori Wilson is now on hospice care. Lori is having issues with her panic/anxiety attacks and is finally in therapy for them. Please pray for peace of mind for Lori and patience/grace for all involved.  Please also pray that the therapy is successful in getting rid of these attacks for good.
    Pray for Anna Pope as she looks for a job locally. She is currently in Fayetteville, AR, and she is wanting to move back to the OKC area.

  • The Yerby’s 6-month old great-granddaughter, Quinnlee, had surgery on Friday, June 24. Please be praying for her healing.

  • Bob Boyer’s great-niece, Haley, had a successful brain tumor surgery. They were able to remove most of the tumor, which may not be cancerous. Now she has an infection and is unable to start chemo. She is on steroids and not doing well.

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems related to liver failure caused from many years of taking medications for his heart failure and then heart transplant.  Please pray he can manage the condition and gain some weight.

  • George Dickson is having issues with his heart and blood pressure. Pray that the doctors can find and answer and make a good treatment plan.

  • Rodney Lee's brother, David, had surgery to have his kidney removed as a result of kidney cancer. David's oncologist feels like they were able to remove all the cancerous tissue along with the kidney, but they will continue to monitor him every 3 months to make sure it didn't spread to the bladder. They have suggested either radiation or chemotherapy as a precaution and he is weighing those options. Pray for his healing.

  • The Leatherwoods’ daughter, Rachel, had a brain MRI. She is now receiving treatments for migraines. She is also receiving treatment for kidney stones.

  • Karen Davis is on IV antibiotics for an infection. Doctors have been unable to find the cause of her infection.

  • Kathy Quillin is needing our prayers for wisdom, direction and health. Kathy has several health issues needing to be covered in prayer. She is specifically asking for the Dr’s wisdom and direction, as well as resolution and healing. Also, Kathy’s current job was eliminated on December 30th, and she is looking for another job that would fit her area of expertise and hours she needs. Please pray God would bring to light any obstacles that might stand in the way of moving forward and that she can find another job quickly.  

  • The Just’s granddaughter, Sophia Weihermueller, is walking independently with her new brace and only needs her new wheelchair for long distances. We are thankful for her recovery and all your prayers!

  • Please pray for Jason Caruthers (26 years old) who was shot in a random drive-by shooting in downtown OKC on January 1st. He has been fighting for his life since then. Jason is the bother of CHBC member Brittany Freeman. She has been his sole caregiver since the incident. Please pray for Brittany, as well. She has missed a lot of work and needs encouragement.

  • Megan Glennie’s mother, Tina Stout, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia several months ago. She had a successful stem cell transplant. Her doctors will continue to be monitor to ensure that the cells graft as they are supposed to do. Continue to pray for her health and that this treatment works.

  • Katie MacDougall is receiving treatment for a lung condition. Please continue praying for her and her doctors as she adjusts to treatment.  

  • Carol and Johnny Just’s granddaughter Marek is being treated for a brain tumor that was diagnosed in 2019. She had her regularly scheduled every 3 month MRI on June 24th, which showed the tumor had shrunk slightly. They appreciate prayers for the brain tumor to remain stable or shrink. She will have another MRI in 3 months.

  • Members with continuing health concerns: Karen Davis, Jim Davis, Kevin Fox, David Spiva, Cameron Frank, Cathy Burris, Michelle Hawkins’ brother, Mark Manning, Frazier’s nephew and his wife; Greg and Sarah Frazier, Glenda Phillips.

Missions and Ministry Requests

  • Pray for our country and elected leaders.

  • Brian and Stephany Meister are serving in New York City.

  • Zac Hanes is at his military AIT training. Zac is in the National Guard.

  • Hannah and Ben Hanes are missionaries serving in the Bronx in NYC.

  • Mary Andrews is in India working with the E3 Partner’s organization to take the gospel to the unreached there. Please pray for her ministry.

  • Logan & Morgan Hanni & their sons, Liam & Grayson, are serving a 3 year term as IMB missionaries to Southeast Asia. Please pray for their travel, language learning and cultural adjustment. Pray for unreached people groups in Southeast Asia to come to a saving faith in Jesus.

Praises

  • Roger and Megan Godwin welcomed twin boys on June 17. Cyrus and Cedrick were born prematurely and spent 6 weeks in NICU. They were able to go home yesterday (July 30)! Praise God! Please continue to pray for their family as they adjust to life as a family of 7 and continue to pray for the babies to grow, be healthy and thrive at home.

  • Cathy Burris’ brain tumor was discovered one year ago. She has gone through many challenges with the surgery and was even told she may never walk again. But God has blessed her in her recovery, and she has improved so much.
