CHBC Prayer List

July 3, 2023

New Prayer Requests

  • Lindsey Bardwell is 8 weeks pregnant. Last week, while at work, she experienced a debilitating migraine with stroke-like symptoms. Her co-workers took her to the ER, where she was able to receive medication that helped. She had this experience for the duration of her first pregnancy, which was scary. Please pray that this was a one time experience and that the remainder of her pregnancy is healthy with no complications. Kyle and Lindsey have two daughters, Nova and Ember. Kyle is our worship associate.

  • Nina Horne’s father has pneumonia. Pray for his healing.

  • Sharon Daniels has been cleared of stomach issues, but has other ongoing health concerns. Continue to pray for her and John.

  • Jane Pickelsimer’s sister, Bobbie, has pneumonia. Pray for her healing.

Ongoing Requests

  • Please pray for Linda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • Walker Moore, missionary and Baptist Messenger columnist, passed away on June 26. Be in prayer for his family.

  • The Just’s nephew, Jason, is in prison. Please pray Colossians 1:9-10 over him. He professes Christ and wants to live for Him during incarceration.

  • Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 19), is not in contact with family and they are concerned for him.  Please pray for safety, that he has somewhere to stay & is working, & for his future.

  • Pray for Josh and Monica Janacek’s son Joshua to draw near to the Lord and seek Him.

  • The Leatherwoods request prayer for their relationship with their son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Cory.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Roger and Megan Godwin welcomed twin boys on June 17. The boys were born prematurely so they will remain in the NICU for a lengthy amount of time to ensure their health and development. Pray that these sweet babies continue to thrive and for their parents and siblings as they navigate this difficult journey.

  • Monica Janacek suffered a spontaneous coronary artery dissection. She was hospitalized but is now home recovering. She is very tired and frail. Pray for her continued healing. Also, pray for her and Josh as they grieve the death of their son, Robbie. HIs funeral was last Friday at CHBC.

  • Mary Kitchell has Stage 4 lung cancer with multiple brain tumors. She has an infection and can’t start chemo yet. She is very fatigued, confused, and has balance issues. Stan needs to stay with her constantly. Please pray for endurance and peace for her and Stan. Also, pray for Stan as he helps his parents (both in their 90s) adjust to their new home in assisted living.

  • Lori Wilson is now on hospice care. Please continue to pray for her and for her family in this difficult time.

  • Cathy Burris has improved since having her shunt placed, She’s now able to walk through the house without her walker.

  • Bob Boyer’s great-niece, Haley, had a successful brain tumor surgery. They were able to remove most of the tumor, which may not be cancerous. Now she has an infection and is unable to start chemo. She is on steroids and not doing well.

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems related to liver failure caused from many years of taking medications for his heart failure and then heart transplant.  Please pray he can manage the condition and gain some weight.

  • George Dickson is having issues with his heart and blood pressure. Pray that the doctors can find and answer and make a good treatment plan.

  • Rodney Lee's brother, David, had surgery to have his kidney removed as a result of kidney cancer. David's oncologist feels like they were able to remove all the cancerous tissue along with the kidney, but they will continue to monitor him every 3 months to make sure it didn't spread to the bladder. They have suggested either radiation or chemotherapy as a precaution and he is weighing those options. Pray for his healing.

  • The Leatherwoods’ daughter, Rachel, had a brain MRI. She is now receiving treatments for migraines. She is also receiving treatment for kidney stones.

  • Karen Davis is on IV antibiotics for an infection. Doctors have been unable to find the cause of her infection.

She is specifically asking for the Dr’s wisdom and direction, as well as resolution and healing. Also, Kathy’s current job was eliminated on December 30th, and she is looking for another job that would fit her area of expertise and hours she needs. Please pray God would bring to light any obstacles that might stand in the way of moving forward and that she can find another job quickly.
