Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • The Yerby’s 6-month old great-granddaughter, Quinnlee, has developmental dysplasia of the hip and a femur that didn’t form correctly. Her doctor has placed her in a hip brace for three weeks. They will re-evaluate at that time to see if surgery will be needed. Pray that the treatment is successful.

  • Jimmy Smith is in the VA Hospital with heart issues. He will be discharged soon to Ignite Rehab. He is very weak.

  • Cathy Burris had a shunt placed to drain excess fluid from around her brain. It will hopefully improve her balance problems.

  • Bob Boyer’s great-niece, Haley, had a successful brain tumor surgery. They were able to remove most of the tumor, which may not be cancerous. She may have to have another surgery in 10-15 years to remove the remainder of the tumor.

  • Sam Wittner’s heart procedure was successful in getting more blood flow to his lower heart. He is feeling better.

  • Lori Wilson continues to receive treatment for her bladder cancer. Continue to pray for her and her family.

  • Mary Kitchell has Stage 4 lung cancer with multiple brain tumors. Radiation on her head is helping. A special lab will determine what specific treatment to do for her lung cancer. Please pray for endurance and peace for her and Stan.

  • Bill Diepenbrock broke his arm in 2 places and broke six ribs several weeks ago. Pray for his continued healing.

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems related to liver failure caused from many years of taking medications for his heart failure and then heart transplant.  Please pray he can manage the condition and gain some weight.

  • George Dickson is having issues with his heart and blood pressure. Pray that the doctors can find and answer and make a good treatment plan.

  • Cara Mahler’s mother, Rhonda, continues to have episodes of extreme confusion and disorientation. She is awaiting a neurology appointment in July to find out the cause and determine treatment, but pray they can get her in sooner and that she has limited episodes in the waiting period.

  • Velta Zoeller’s daughter, Teresa, had knee replacement surgery. Pray for her continued healing.

  • Rodney Lee's brother, David, had surgery to have his kidney removed as a result of kidney cancer. David's oncologist feels like they were able to remove all the cancerous tissue along with the kidney, but they will continue to monitor him every 3 months to make sure it didn't spread to the bladder. They have suggested either radiation or chemotherapy as a precaution and he is weighing those options. Pray for his healing.

  • The Leatherwoods’ son, Daniel, broke his foot in several places. Pray for his foot to heal.

  • Stan Kitchell’s parents (both in their 90s) are at home on hospice.

  • The Leatherwoods’ daughter, Rachel, had a brain MRI.  She will see a neurologist for a diagnosis.

  • Karen Davis is on IV antibiotics for an infection. Doctors have been unable to find the cause of her infection.

  • Kathy Quillin is needing our prayers for wisdom, direction and health. Kathy has several health issues needing to be covered in prayer. She is specifically asking for the Dr’s wisdom and direction, as well as resolution and healing. Also, Kathy’s current job was eliminated on December 30th, and she is looking for another job that would fit her area of expertise and hours she needs. Please pray God would bring to light any obstacles that might stand in the way of moving forward and that she can find another job quickly.

  • The Just’s granddaughter, Sophia Weihermueller, is walking independently with her new brace and only needs her new wheelchair for long distances. We are thankful for her recovery and all your prayers!

  • Please pray for Jason Caruthers (26 years old) who was shot in a random drive-by shooting in downtown OKC on January 1st. He has been fighting for his life since then. Jason is the bother of CHBC member Brittany Freeman. She has been his sole caregiver since the incident. Please pray for Brittany, as well. She has missed a lot of work and needs encouragement.

  • Megan Glennie’s mother, Tina Stout, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia several months ago. She had a successful stem cell transplant. Her doctors will continue to be monitor to ensure that the cells graft as they are supposed to do. Continue to pray for her health and that this treatment works.
