CHBC Prayer List

New Prayer Requests

  • Velta Zoeller may have a torn meniscus in her left knee. She is seeing a doctor today. Please pray it will require only minimal treatment. 

  • Pat Boyer’s right hand is waking her at night. It may be carpal tunnel or neuropathy. Please pray she will get an accurate diagnosis and treatment. 

  • Nell Head may also have a torn meniscus as well as back pain. Pray for relief. 

  • Scott Sanbar is asking for prayer for his friend Will, the son of his high school friends Matt and Dana. Will has struggled with mental health, has been in and out of jail, and has recently been cut off by his parents. Pray for wisdom, guidance, and help with shepherding Will back to where he needs to be.

  • Pray for those who were impacted by Hurricane Helene and by Hurricane Milton. Pray for the first responders, volunteers and aid organizations who are trying to assist those who are suffering.

Ongoing Requests

  • Pray for the Weigand’s friends who are workers in North Africa. They lost their home sending church and need to find a new one but travel and ministry difficulties make it hard to return to the states to build that support system back up. Pray for the Lord to provide answers and support according to His will.

  • Velta Zoeller’s 13-year-old grandson, Griffin, lacks one growth hormone. Another one is very low. Please pray for proper treatment as he enters puberty. 

  • Tia Philbin is taking legal action in a very traumatic situation that she experienced in the past. She is asking for strength and peace during the process as well as justice to be served.

  • Paul Christy is serving in the Air Force in Italy. Pray for community and strength for him as he’s away for the next few years. 

  • David and Lynda Ramsey closed on another house in far NW OKC on Thursday and are in the process of packing and moving. Please pray this house will be a blessing to them.

  • Pray for those in our church family who are looking for new jobs.

  • Keaire Wilkins (Sheireka's son) needs prayer.

  • Nell Head sat with Sharon Daniels last week so that John could leave for a while. Sharon slept the whole time. John is very tired and stays by her side constantly. Please pray for the Daniels and encourage John.

  • Please pray for Lynda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • Pray for Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 20), that God would intervene and draw him back into a relationship with the Lord and with his family.

  • Pray for the people of Israel and the Middle East. Pray that Christ would be made known, pray for peace in and around Israel, pray for the protection of innocents in the entire area. Continue to pray for those working to spread the Good News in the midst of this crisis.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Desire Fobasso went to the hospital due to seizures, but while in the ER he coded, and they had to revive him. He has not regained consciousness. He is breathing and stable in ICU at Baptist hospital. Pray for Desire and his wive, Chanceline.

  • Several of our young families have been suffering ongoing illnesses (strep, flu, Covid, etc). Pray for healing and continued health for both parents and children. Because of the sickness being passed around, our nursery area is often in need of fill-in volunteers. If you would be willing to step in to assist when they are in need, please contact Hailee or Bethany so they can add your name to their list of back-up helpers.

  • Kathy Quinlin had knee replacement surgery on October 5. Please pray for her recovery.

  • Jeffery Yesslith (Adult 4) will have shoulder surgery in November.

  • Sherrill Sageser has decided to have a trial neurostimulator procedure done on November 1. It will last one week and help to determine if he wants it implanted or not. 

  • Pam & Curtis Yerby have a neighbor who has been dealing with hepatitis C for 19 years. Recently, his numbers have been going up and he also fell recently and fractured his shoulder. He’s in his 80s and his name is Glen Morgan. Pray for Glenn and for the Yerbys as they minister to him.

  • Karen Davis is back on antibiotics again for her infection. Please pray for healing. 

  • Shelby Byrd is having hip issues. Pray for healing and provision for him. 

  • Kendall McWilliams had her gallbladder removed today. Pray for her recovery and health.

  • Debbie Weir is still having heart issues after her previous procedure. 

  • Madi Grogan has been in ongoing pain for a while. Pray for guidance for the doctors as they look for the causes of Madi’s pain and a solution that will bring healing to her body. Pray for peace for her mind, as well as endurance and comfort for her family.

  • Former member, Dwayne Smith, is now home after heart bypass surgery. He is recovering and using a walker. Pray for continued improvement. 

  • Evan and Levi Prince’s friend, Jeremy P., has stomach cancer. Be in prayer for him as he and his doctors decide on treatments.

  • Sam Wittner is suffering with arthritis. Charlotte is aware that she is having some issues with dementia.

  • Robert Manning’s daughter, Shelly Leaf, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Pray for Shelly and her doctors.

  • One of our GED students has an adult daughter, Felicity, who has a heart valve defect and has been having trouble with blood clots which are threatening to cause the loss of toes. Pray for healing for Felicity and that her doctors would have guidance in her care.

  • Diana Barr’s dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Be in prayer for their family as they seek the best treatments.

  • Katie MacDougall is undergoing treatment for her lung disease. Please continue praying this treatment would reduce inflammation, slow disease progression, and reduce the need for more unpleasant treatment options as well as wisdom for her pulmonary teams at Mayo and OU. 

  • Carol and Johnny Just’s granddaughter Marek Merideth. Earlier this month her MRI indicated that the brain tumor remains stable.   She has completed the oral chemo protocol so was taken off the medicine.  It had significant side effects so I'm sure her quality of life will be improved but we still need prayer the tumor does not grow!

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems and other problems related to liver failure. Also, it was discovered he has a heart valve that was damaged from the multiple biopsies done to monitor transplant rejection, which may need surgical intervention in the future. The accumulation of stress has taken a toll on their marriage. Pray for mercy and peace.

  • Members with continuing health concerns: Karen Davis, Jim Davis, Kevin Fox, David Spiva, Cameron Frank, Cathy Burris, Michelle Hawkins’ brother, Mark Manning, Frazier’s nephew and his wife; Greg and Sarah Frazier, Glenda Phillips, Sherrill Sageser, Sam Wittner, Charlotte Wittner, Sharon Daniels, Belinda Yesslith.

Missions and Ministry Requests

  • Pray for our country and elected leaders.

  • Hannah and Ben Hanes are missionaries serving in the Bronx in NYC.

  • Logan & Morgan Hanni & their sons, Liam & Grayson, are serving a 3-year term as IMB missionaries to Southeast Asia. Please pray for their travel, language learning and cultural adjustment. Pray for unreached people groups in Southeast Asia to come to a saving faith in Jesus.

  • De’Vonte’ Pittman is serving on the mission field in North Africa. He will be there at least a year. Pray for him and for the people groups with whom he will be sharing the gospel.

  • Pray the congregation at Northeast Fellowship, that they would grow in their love for God and each other. Pray for their community, specifically for the new people moving to their community that the Lord would use their church to reach them with the gospel and equip them to meet their physical needs. Let everything they do/plan be devotional, and draw them closer to the Lord.

Praises

  • Praise God for all He is doing in our church and community.

CHBC Lexington Chapel Service Prayer requests

  • Michael Wright: Prayed on 10/28 to receive the love and forgiveness of Jesus, and seeks to walk forward in a new direction. He specifically is seeking to grow in his love for Jesus in his heart!

  • Rusty: requested general prayer for an unnamed man in Unit 1, quad 3, cell G

  • John: Diagnosed with a heart problem resulting in aneurysm, and also has a valve problem.  Prayer for the upcoming surgery.

  • John’s mother: She is over 80 and recently in the hospital for undisclosed issues. He is worried about her, and prayers for people to be there to take care of her in her time of need.

  • Collin’s mother: She was admitted to the hospital due to breathing issues.

  • Clay’s sister: She has been diagnosed with a “rare” kidney issue, and is going to be traveling to Atlanta for specialized treatment.

  • John’s brother & Gary’s sister: Pray that they would be receptive to the gospel message, and that The Holy Spirit would do a might work in their lives, for salvation.

  • Jose: He has a young son on the outside sending him Christian materials, and asking about going to church when he comes back home. Jose, by his own admission, is “waiting” to pray to Jesus. Please pray for God to speak life and clarity into Jose’s life, for Jose to recognize the truth that The Holy Spirit is pouring into him, that he will surrender to Jesus, and submit to serving, for the sake of himself, and as an example to his son and family!
