CHBC Prayer List

New Prayer Requests

  • Pray for students, parents, and teachers who are preparing for a new school year.

  • Velta Zoeller’s granddaughter, Nikki, lost her job due to many medical emergencies and not being able to notify them in time. Please pray she can find another job and that she will be healthier. 

  • Boyers’ grandson, Grayson Dinh, will begin the police academy on Wednesday, which will last 7 months. Pray for safety as he learns.

  • Sherrill Sageser has begun having sciatica pain in his left hip and knee, in addition to his ongoing back pain. He will have x-rays and an MRI of his lower back at the VA next month. Please pray for relief of his pain and for better mobility.  Also, he needs an increased disability rating with the VA. 

  • Linda Sageser had another iGg lab test at her oncologist’s office, which shows her immunity is dropping too low again. She may need another infusion. 

Ongoing Requests

  • Lynda Ramsey’s daughter, Lisa, escaped a bad situation at home and now has a job in Texas. Please pray for her safety and ability to work successfully

  • Kim and Kent Melton’s son, Cole, is now a radiation oncologist. He will be in OKC for a time and then work in Tulsa. 

  • Debra Bacorn is going to manage the kitchen for us. She asks that we pray about what Wednesday night meals might look like in the upcoming year as she begins to plan and prepare.

  • Pray for the children of Brenda Yesslith to be drawn closer to the Lord. They live in Phoenix and Los Angeles.

  • Roger and Megan Godwin, along with their 5 children, lost their home last month in a fire. Pray for their family as they move through this difficult trial.

  • Pray for the Weigand’s friends who are workers in North Africa.

  • Tia Philbin is taking legal action in a very traumatic situation that she experienced in the past. She is asking for strength and peace during the process as well as justice to be served.

  • Paul Christy is serving in the Air Force in Italy. Pray for community and strength for him as he’s away for the next few years. 

  • Pray for those in our church family who are looking for employment, that the Lord would provide for their needs and place them in the right position for their gifts, talents, and to be used for His glory.

  • Keaire Wilkins (Sheireka's son) needs prayer for the outcome of his review request.

  • Pray for wisdom for John Daniels as he cares for Sharon.

  • Please pray for Lynda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • Pray for Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 20), that God would intervene and draw him back into a relationship with the Lord and with his family.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Don Cude’s cousin, Darrell Shumack, has Stage 4 cancer in his jaw and neck. Doctors are not able to use chemo to treat it, and he’s not doing well. Please pray for God’s will for Darrell. 

  • Nell Head is back home after her knee replacement surgery and is doing very well.

  • The Boyers’ daughter-in-law, Stephanie, is out of the hospital and is using a CPAP and oxygen.

  • Debbie Weir’s younger brother, Ken White, has cancer in his liver. No treatment is possible because of its location. He is not a Christian and doesn’t want to hear about God. Please pray for his salvation and health. 

  • Boyers’ friend, Shirley, has breast cancer. It was found early, and she is taking treatments. Pray for healing. 

  • Velta Zoeller’s brother, James, had the bones in his mouth to deteriorate. His teeth were pulled and dentures made. He is adjusting. His son, Scott, is taking his diuretic for fluid accumulation. Pray he continues taking it properly. 

  • Mary Kitchell saw an orthopedic oncologist about the cancerous tumor in her upper leg. He was not particularly alarmed about it and will monitor its growth again in September. The Kitchells traveled to Texas for Mary’s sister’s funeral recently. 

  • Don Cude’s blood pressure was in the normal range this week. Pray it will continue.

  • Tara Sageser finally had a neurology appointment 8 months after her episodes of imbalance and weakness when walking. He doesn’t yet know the cause of her problems but wants another brain MRI to compare with past ones and possibly a spinal tap to rule out MS. Please pray she gets a correct diagnosis and treatment plan. 

  • Lois Phelps’ sister, Peggy Bysun, is having emergency surgery to replace her pacemaker and her body is battling sepsis, which makes the surgery even more complicated. Prayers for Peggy, her medical team, and Lois are appreciated.

  • Tom Clanton’s friend, Jimmy Lehew, is now in skilled nursing following his surgery for a broken leg. He is a former evangelist and has many health issues including diabetes.  Please pray for his healing and recovery. 

  • Belinda Yesslith’s aunt, Alice Mute, is in a nursing home on oxygen. She had been hospitalized with lung problems. In addition, Belinda has lung cancer and her hair is thinning and falling out, possibly due to her treatment.

  • Kathy Quillan’s shoulder pain is gone. She had an outpatient procedure Monday, May 5th. Pray for her healing.

  • Pray for Tanya Fobasso’s parents health and well being that God would provide exactly what her family needs.

  • Sam and Charlotte Wittner - The spots on Charlotte’s liver and kidney were cysts that are not concerning. Charlotte’s dementia is progressing. Pray for Sam to have patience in caring for his wife.

  • Members with continuing health concerns: Madi Grogan, Abigail Gulley, Karen Davis, Jim Davis, Kevin Fox, David Spiva, Cameron Frank, Cathy Burris, Michelle Hawkins’ brother, Mark Manning, Frazier’s nephew and his wife; Greg and Sarah Frazier, Sherrill Sageser, Sam Wittner, Charlotte Wittner, Sharon Daniels, Belinda Yesslith.

Missions and Ministry Requests

  • Noah Leslie will spend the summer serving in NYC at Everlasting Church.

  • Pray for our country and elected leaders.

  • Hannah and Ben Hanes are missionaries serving in the Bronx in NYC.

  • Logan & Morgan Hanni & their sons, Liam, Grayson and new baby Kaleb, are serving a 3-year term as IMB missionaries to Southeast Asia. Please pray for their travel, language learning and cultural adjustment. Pray for unreached people groups in Southeast Asia to come to a saving faith in Jesus.

  • De’Vonte’ Pittman is serving on the mission field in North Africa. He will be there at least a year. Pray for him and for the people groups with whom he will be sharing the gospel.

  • Pray the congregation at Northeast Fellowship, that they would grow in their love for God and each other. Pray for their community, specifically for the new people moving to their community that the Lord would use their church to reach them with the gospel and equip them to meet their physical needs. Let everything they do/plan be devotional, and draw them closer to the Lord.

Praises

  • Praise God for all He is doing in our church and community.

  • Jim and Karen Davis had a safe trip back east and are home.

CHBC prison ministry Prayer requests

Please keep the following requests in your prayers this week.

  • Please be in prayer for Marcell.  He is a man who is very genuine in his confession of faith, and dependency on the Lord as he moves forward.  We discussed his missing right hand and how he lost it saving his daughter from a fireworks injury a few years back.  Pray for his peace and protection, as well as peace and protection for his family.

  • Pray for Mace, a new guard at Lexington.

  • Pray for Aaron L., a man who God has anointed to be a preacher & minister, as CHBC in partnership with many other individuals from all walks of life, work with him toward ordination.

  • Jim White, been in prison for 45 years, and has parole hearing coming up in August.  Wants to join his wife and family.

  • Pray for Kerry, a volunteer, for encouragement through some marital struggles he is facing.

 

Remember to keep the following men in your prayers, as they have surrendered to Jesus with prayers of repentance and surrender during recent A&R cell-to-cell visits.  Pray for direction and protection!
