New Prayer Requests

  • Pam & Curtis Yerby have a neighbor who has been dealing with hepatitis C for 19 years. Recently, his numbers have been going up and he also fell recently and fractured his shoulder. He’s in his 80s and his name is Glen Morgan. Pray for Glenn and for the Yerbys as they minister to him.

  • Pray for Nell Head, who has Covid.

  • Pray for Charles and Brook Smith.

  • Pray for volunteers for our Preschool Ministry. They are still in need of 2-3 volunteers to love on babies In the Mint Room (bed babies) during the small group hour and 1-2 volunteers to teach in the Green Room (age 2) during the small group hour. They are flexible and will be grateful for ANY amount of time to invest in the littlest members of CHBC.   • Pray for students and teachers as they prepare to return to school in the coming weeks.

Ongoing Requests

  • Paul Christy is serving in the Air Force in Italy. Pray for community and strength for him as he’s away for the next few years. 

  • David and Lynda Ramsey are in the process of buying a house in the Village. They are waiting for the inspection. 

  • Daniel Swinehart and his children Landin (13) and Hudson (10) lost their lives in the crash at Sundance Airport last week. The Swinehart’s belong to Quail Springs Baptist Church. Please keep Daniel’s wife (and the children’s mother), Victoria, and their extended family in your prayers during this very difficult time.

  • Pray for those in our church family who are looking for new jobs.

  • Velta Zoeller’s nephew, Scott, is living with her brother, James. Scott went through a divorce and a back surgery. He is very depressed and suicidal. They are not getting along. Pray for Scott’s emotions and for a better relationship with his dad. 

  • Keaire Wilkins (Sheireka's son) needs prayer.

  • Geneva Skala is experiencing some problems and requests prayers for strength.

  • Trent Harkins (teenage son of Beth and Greg) will graduate Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA on August 23. Pray for their family as they travel to celebrate with him and bring him home for his senior year of high school.

  • John Daniels needs calls of encouragement because he doesn’t know what steps to take next with Sharon. She does well during the day but gets confused in the evenings.

  • Please pray for Lynda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • Pray for Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 20), that God would intervene and draw him back into a relationship with the Lord and with his family.

  • Pray for the people of Israel and the Middle East. Pray that Christ would be made known, pray for peace in and around Israel, pray for the protection of innocents in the entire area. Continue to pray for those working to spread the Good News in the midst of this crisis.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Shelby Byrd is having hip issues. Pray for healing and provision for him. 

  • Kendall McWilliams is having some health issues. Pray for wisdom and healing for her. 

  • Tom Clanton’s brother-in-law, Chris, will have another cancer removed on his arm today. 

  • Tom Clanton’s friend, Jimmy Lehu, has a staph infection and is very weak. Please pray for strength and correct treatment.

  • Geneva Skala had some skin cancers removed on her left hand. It is painful, and she is facing radiation treatments. Please lift Geneva up for comfort and healing. 

  • Velta Zoeller’s brother, James, is doing well with his new pacemaker and is very thankful he got it. Her younger brother, Gene, now has wound care home health coming to treat his legs. The lesions are improving.

  • Debbie Weir is still having heart issues after her previous procedure. 

  • Don Cude had surgery for cancer in his nose. He will have the stitches removed on Tuesday. 

  • Madi Grogan has been in the hospital this past week dealing with ongoing severe abdominal pain, along with several other medical issues. She has several outpatient appointments with doctors from Mayo in the coming days. Pray for guidance for the doctors as they look for the causes of Madi’s pain and a solution that will bring healing to her body. Pray for peace for her mind, as well as endurance and comfort for her family.

  • Anna Harkins is nearing the end of her medicine changes. So far, by the grace of God, she's not had anymore seizures. Please join her parents, Greg and Beth, in prayer that these medications continue to help her live seizure free again.

  • Bob Boyer has carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist. He’s been given medication, a brace, and exercises to do. Please pray for healing. 

  • Former member, Dwayne Smith, is recovering from heart bypass at rehab, but having difficulty with his leg. Please pray for healing for Dwayne and comfort for Deanna.

  • Pat Boyer will have a probing procedure on her kidney Wednesday morning to try to freeze the cancerous tumor in her right kidney. Please pray that it is successful so that she doesn’t have to have her kidney removed. 

  • John Burris’ grandson, John Burris II, had his colon removed. He is doing well after his treatment.

  • Helen Wilkerson moved successfully to a first-floor room at Tealridge in Edmond. Continue praying for her adjustment. 

  • Sherrill Sageser’s pain pump was turned up from .5 to .7 (42%), but it hasn’t helped yet. He is now scheduled with a VA neurologist on August 28 as a second opinion for his Lewy body dementia. 

  • Robin Smith had an ultrasound May 30th for an abnormality in her breast. Please pray for wisdom, peace and healing.

  • Jayne Manley’s son-in-law, Dan Franklin, just retired and learned he has cancer in his spine. 

  • Bob Boyer’s great-niece, Hailey (21), has improved and is back to work.

  • Evan and Levi Prince’s friend, Jeremy P., has stomach cancer. Be in prayer for him as he and his doctors decide on treatments.

  • Sam Wittner is suffering with arthritis. Charlotte is aware that she is having some issues with dementia.

  • Robert Manning’s daughter, Shelly Leaf, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Pray for Shelly and her doctors.

  • One of our GED students has an adult daughter, Felicity, who has a heart valve defect and has been having trouble with blood clots which are threatening to cause the loss of toes. Pray for healing for Felicity and that her doctors would have guidance in her care.

  • Diana Barr’s dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Be in prayer for their family as they seek the best treatments.

  • Dennis & Charline DeWitt have not been in Church since October 2023. Dennis had a number of procedures and health problems Please pray for his healing.

  • Katie MacDougall is undergoing treatment for her lung disease. Please continue praying this treatment would reduce inflammation, slow disease progression, and reduce the need for more unpleasant treatment options as well as wisdom for her pulmonary teams at Mayo and OU. 

  • Carol and Johnny Just’s granddaughter Marek Merideth. Earlier this month her MRI indicated that the brain tumor remains stable.   She has completed the oral chemo protocol so was taken off the medicine.  It had significant side effects so I'm sure her quality of life will be improved but we still need prayer the tumor does not grow!

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems and other problems related to liver failure. Also, it was discovered he has a heart valve that was damaged from the multiple biopsies done to monitor transplant rejection, which may need surgical intervention in the future. The accumulation of stress has taken a toll on their marriage. Pray for mercy and peace.

  • Members with continuing health concerns: Karen Davis, Jim Davis, Kevin Fox, David Spiva, Cameron Frank, Cathy Burris, Michelle Hawkins’ brother, Mark Manning, Frazier’s nephew and his wife; Greg and Sarah Frazier, Glenda Phillips, Sherrill Sageser, Sam Wittner, Charlotte Wittner, Sharon Daniels, Belinda Yesslith.

Missions and Ministry Requests

  • Pray for our country and elected leaders.

  • Hannah and Ben Hanes are missionaries serving in the Bronx in NYC.

  • Logan & Morgan Hanni & their sons, Liam & Grayson, are serving a 3 year term as IMB missionaries to Southeast Asia. Please pray for their travel, language learning and cultural adjustment. Pray for unreached people groups in Southeast Asia to come to a saving faith in Jesus.

  • De’Vonte’ Pittman is serving on the mission field in North Africa. He will be there at least a year. Pray for him and for the people groups with whom he will be sharing the gospel.

Praises

  • Praise God for all He is doing in our church and community.

  • Anna Harkins is doing beautifully on her new medication and her MRI / EEG seem to “agree”.

CHBC Lexington Chapel Service Prayer requests

  • Nate requests ​prayer for boldness to step into God's calling to me to teach His word. And prayer for his brother "Chief" as he seeks to grow closer to God, and needs protection and encouragement in the midst of the enemy's attacks.

  • Ross requests prayer for his cellmate that he would hear the truth and understand God's Word.

  • Farrington requests general prayer​.
