New Prayer Requests

  • Wilma Cude will have a follow-up CT scan on Thursday to check the spot on her upper lung. Please pray it is smaller or gone. 

  • Don Cude will have surgery on his nose August 13. Pray for a smooth surgery and recovery.

  • Pray for volunteers for our Preschool Ministry. They are in dire need of volunteers to teach during the small group hour (a weekly commitment) or to love on children during the worship service (a monthly or quarterly commitment.) Our Preschool ministry is the first place many babies and preschoolers learn about Jesus’ love for them. If you can volunteer ANY amount of time to invest in the future of CHBC, contact Hailee Frank at hailee@chbcok.com or Bethany Douglas at bethany@chbcok.com.

Ongoing Requests

  • Velta Zoeller’s nephew, Scott, is living with her brother, James. Scott went through a divorce and a back surgery. He is very depressed and suicidal. They are not getting along. Pray for Scott’s emotions and for a better relationship with his dad. 

  • Keaire Wilkins (Sheireka's son) has pending charges. Please pray for the family as they navigate meetings with his attorney and the DA, for peace in the waiting (court scheduled for Aug. 5th), and for the most positive outcome possible. Geneva Skala is experiencing some problems and requests prayers for strength.

  • Trent Harkins (teenage son of Beth and Greg) is at Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA. Pray for Trent to have a successful time at training and for his family as they will miss him over the summer.

  • John Daniels needs calls of encouragement because he doesn’t know what steps to take next with Sharon. She does well during the day but gets confused in the evenings.

  • Please pray for Lynda Ramsey’s daughter and son’s salvation. That God would give her son, Donald, a message that would bring him to His Word and to Himself. Pray that her daughter would be delivered from depression.

  • The Just’s nephew, Jason, is in prison. Please pray Colossians 1:9-10 over him. He professes Christ and wants to live for Him during incarceration.

  • Pray for Beverly Hite’s grandson, Michael (age 20), that God would intervene and draw him back into a relationship with the Lord and with his family.

  • Pray for the people of Israel and the Middle East. Pray that Christ would be made known, pray for peace in and around Israel, pray for the protection of innocents in the entire area. Continue to pray for those working to spread the Good News in the midst of this crisis.

Hospitalizations and Illnesses

  • Madi Grogan has been in the hospital this past week dealing with ongoing severe abdominal pain, along with several other medical issues. She has several outpatient appointments with doctors from Mayo in the coming days. Pray for guidance for the doctors as they look for the causes of Madi’s pain and a solution that will bring healing to her body. Pray for peace for her mind, as well as endurance and comfort for her family.

  • Anna Harkins is nearing the end of her medicine changes. So far, by the grace of God, she's not had anymore seizures. Please join her parents, Greg and Beth, in prayer that these medications continue to help her live seizure free again.

  • Bob Boyer has carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist. He’s been given medication, a brace, and exercises to do. Please pray for healing. 

  • Former member, Dwayne Smith, is recovering from heart bypass at rehab, but having difficulty with his leg. Please pray for healing for Dwayne and comfort for Deanna.

  • Cathy Burris’ friend, Greg Earles, was in a serious car accident. He is healing.

  • Pat Boyer had an ultrasound on her kidney Friday. She’s waiting to be scheduled for a procedure by an interventional radiologist. 

  • John Burris’ grandson, John Burris II, had his colon removed. He is doing well after his treatment.

  • Helen Wilkerson will be moving to assisted living at Tealridge Retirement Community in Edmond on July 19. Please pray for a safe and easy adjustment.

  • Sherrill Sageser had his pain pump medication changed to dilaudid this week. It isn’t helping with his pain yet, so continue to pray that it would make a difference for him.

  • Robin Smith had an ultrasound May 30th for an abnormality in her breast. Please pray for wisdom, peace and healing.

  • Jayne Manley’s son-in-law, Dan Franklin, just retired and learned he has cancer in his spine. 

  • Bob Boyer’s great-niece, Hailey (21), is struggling again with the residual brain tumor left behind in an earlier surgery. Please pray for correct treatment for her. 

  • Evan and Levi Prince’s friend, Jeremy P., has stomach cancer. Be in prayer for him as he and his doctors decide on treatments.

  • Sam Wittner is suffering with arthritis. Charlotte is aware that she is having some issues with dementia.

  • Robert Manning’s daughter, Shelly Leaf, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Pray for Shelly and her doctors.

  • One of our GED students has an adult daughter, Felicity, who has a heart valve defect and has been having trouble with blood clots which are threatening to cause the loss of toes. Pray for healing for Felicity and that her doctors would have guidance in her care.

  • Diana Barr’s dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Be in prayer for their family as they seek the best treatments.

  • Dennis & Charline DeWitt have not been in Church since October 2023. Dennis had a number of procedures and health problems Please pray for his healing.

  • Katie MacDougall is undergoing treatment for her lung disease. Please continue praying this treatment would reduce inflammation, slow disease progression, and reduce the need for more unpleasant treatment options as well as wisdom for her pulmonary teams at Mayo and OU. 

  • Carol and Johnny Just’s granddaughter Marek has been taken off her medication as she can only take it for so long. Her tumor remains stable.

  • Johnny and Carol Just’s son-in-law, Mitch Merideth, had a heart transplant in 2016. He continues to struggle with health problems related to liver failure caused from many years of taking medications for his heart failure and then heart transplant.  He is not doing well. Please pray he can manage the condition and gain some weight.  

  • Members with continuing health concerns: Karen Davis, Jim Davis, Kevin Fox, David Spiva, Cameron Frank, Cathy Burris, Michelle Hawkins’ brother, Mark Manning, Frazier’s nephew and his wife; Greg and Sarah Frazier, Glenda Phillips, Sherrill Sageser, Sam Wittner, Charlotte Wittner, Sharon Daniels, Belinda Yesslith.

Missions and Ministry Requests

  • Pray for our country and elected leaders.

  • Hannah and Ben Hanes are missionaries serving in the Bronx in NYC.

  • Logan & Morgan Hanni & their sons, Liam & Grayson, are serving a 3 year term as IMB missionaries to Southeast Asia. Please pray for their travel, language learning and cultural adjustment. Pray for unreached people groups in Southeast Asia to come to a saving faith in Jesus.

  • De’Vonte’ Pittman is serving on the mission field in North Africa. He will be there at least a year. Pray for him and for the people groups with whom he will be sharing the gospel.

Praises

  • Praise God for all He is doing in our church and community.

  • Mary Kitchell was back in church and is doing better. Her doctor is happy with her progress. Sooner's she will begin taking infusions for her bone cancer.

CHBC Lexington Chapel Service Prayer requests

  • Vince: Prayer for daughter named Carol, for salvation.  Also for grace to be used to lead more men to Christ.

  • Ross: Prayer for Israel, the homeless, and upcoming release in Sept or Oct.

  • Dakota: Prayer for healing for his mother’s cancer. Deliverance from his drug addiction, and strength to stay on God's path.

  • Tommy: Prayer for accountability partnership.

  • Caleb: Prayer to know the Father...MORE...

  • Nate: Prayer that he can get ahold of his grandma and she can figure out how to use the system so they can talk more often.

  • Enrique: Thankful for continued prayer for him and his wife.  Prays that he will stay steady in his walk with God and he will feel the presence of God in his life more deeply.

  • Andros: Prayer for his cellmate Keith to be delivered from the vices that haunt him, and spiritual growth. Prayer for salvation of his wife’s sons and daughters.  Prayer for God's favor on his upcoming potential administrative parole.​​
