Promotion Sunday | This Sunday
This Sunday (August 11th) is Promotion Sunday! If you have a pre-schooler or age-graded student at CHBC, be sure to check for communication from Brandon, Caleb, or Hailee for information about what to expect and where your child will be this Sunday.
Fall Kickoff & Ice Cream Social | August 14th
We’re ready to get back into Fall at CHBC! Our Fall Kickoff, sponsored by our Family Ministry Team will help you get excited for what’s coming and learn about what you can expect during MDWK this fall.
Here’s what you can expect:
5:00 - Pizza in the Fellowship Hall
6:00 - Fall Kickoff Rally in the Worship Center
6:30 - Ministry Area Info Meetings
Students will gather in the Student Center
CHBC Kids will meet upstairs
Adults will be in the Fellowship Hall to learn about our fall offerings
7:00 - Ice Cream!
If you can bring or make your favorite ice cream, that would be great! Please drop it off in the Fellowship Hall between 5 and 6, during the mealtime.
Miscarriage Hope | August 19th
Miscarriage Hope is a support group for parents who have lost a baby through miscarriage.
Faith and Kaleb Graves will lead monthly meetings for the next 6 months, to share stories, grief, and where we find our hope through the darkness.
Meets in the Student Center from 6:30-8:30, starting August, 19th.
Fall Midweek | August 21st
We’re excited for our fall midweek opportunities to get back into full swing starting August 21st at 6pm.
Women’s Bible Study | August 21th
You Were Made for This Moment Bible Study by Max Lucado
Are you facing an uncertain future filled with fear, doubt, and hard choices during an impossible season in life? In the You Were Made for This Moment video Bible study, Max Lucado explores the story of Esther in 6 sessions and encourages you reclaim your identity and discover the path God has marked for you.
The cost of the study is $12 and will be led by Kathy Hart.
Faith Essentials: Basic Apologetics
We’re going to dive into some of the hardest-to-answer questions in our current culture, as well as studying a healthy framework for making sense of the world around us and engaging our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers with the gospel in a meaningful way. Prepare to be challenged and encouraged.
We’ll meet in the south Fellowship Hall. Bring a Bible and a journal!
Weekly Prayer Meeting

Brian and Stephany Meister lead our prayer meeting every Wednesday night as 6pm, where the church gathers to pray over every single prayer request in our church and seek the Lord’s direction for our church. At CHBC, we believe that prayer is the work of the ministry. We would love to see you there!
Whiz Kids Interest Meeting | August 25th
It’s almost time for Whiz Kids to start back!
Whiz Kids is a great program that allows us to serve the students at Tulakes Elementary by offering one-on-one tutoring to help them succeed. We also have opportunities to teach the Bible and get to know their families.
Our Whiz Kids Needs:

If you would like to learn more about helping in any capacity, come to the Whiz Kids interest meeting on August 25, right after the morning service.
Women’s Worship Night | August 29th
Gather with CHBC women & others from across the community as we join our hearts together in worship, prayer, and teaching from best-selling author and Biblical culturalist Kristi McLelland. The cost is $10/person which includes Worship Night and teaching from Kristi followed by Wondervan popsicles. Also, feel free to grab dinner at either Cava or Q'Doba on NW Expressway & Rockwell (5:15ish) to enjoy extra together before heading to the event.
60 Years of CHBC
This year we are celebrating 60 years of Cherokee Hills! If you have any pictures of Cherokee Hills over the years, we would love to see them! Please send anything you have to info@chbcok.com or bring them by the church office to be scanned. Thank you!
We will be having a big anniversary celebration on Sunday, September 15th. Make plans to be here and invite friends and family with connections to Cherokee Hills! More details coming soon.

GO DEEPER AT CHBC
Midweek at CHBC is taking a break for the summer!
Our normal midweek activities are taking a break for June and July to allow room for summer camps, VBS, and all of the summer activities we engage with throughout the summer.
Our midweek schedule will start back up, August 21st.
Wednesday Prayer Meeting
Join Brian and Stephany Meister every Wednesday at 6:00pm in the Senior Adult Room to pray together as a church. We will be praying through Scripture, prayer requests, and lifting up the lost.
