New Preteen Ministry

Starting in August, our 5th and 6th graders will be a part of our brand-new Preteen Ministry!

This is a unique time in the life of our children, and we want to give them the best, most intentional ministry that we can.

5th and 6th graders will gather together for large group and small group times on Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as extra awesome fellowships and events throughout the year.

B.U.M.P. Preteen event | August 9th

We are welcoming our new 5th graders into the preteen ministry in a way only CHBC PRETEENS knows how. By having a crazy fun day. We will be playing some epic games, showing off our new preteen space, and previewing what the new preteen ministry will be like. All this will happen while building friendships with the other preteens and the leaders.

When: August 9th, 4:00-6:30

Where: Preteen Wing (and beyond)

Make sure you sign up online to get specific instructions and to let us know you are coming.

K-Day | August 12th

K-Day is a preview of what kindergarteners will be doing in our Kids ministry this next year.

They will get to see where their Sunday small group class is, where Kids church will be, and where MDWK will take place.

Promotion Sunday | August 13th

Promotion Sunday is just a few weeks away! What does that mean for you?

If you have a preschooler who’s going into kindergarten, they’ll be going upstairs. Look out for K-Day coming August 5 (more details coming soon) and you might notice our soon-to-be kindergarteners coming into the worship service to learn what’s all about—if you see them, say hi!

Our graduated high schoolers will move to the college class with Stephen and Sabrina Brown. If you have any questions, reach out to your ministry leader (Hailee, Caleb, or Brandon) and they’d love to help!

Back to School Bash | August 16th

Bring the whole family and some friends! We will eat some pizza and have fun for everyone as we celebrate the school year and MDWK kicking back off after summer. Dinner begins at 5:00 the rest of the fun will begin at 6 and be over around 7:00.

MEn’s Breakfast | August 19th

Come hang out with the CHBC Men for a great Men’s Breakfast to kick off the Fall semester!

  • 8:00am

  • Fellowship Hall

  • Free Breakfast!

Launch Week | August 20th

Launch Sunday is the Sunday right after promotion Sunday and that’s a great time for us to engage a few special ways!

  • New small groups will be launching

  • We want to find people that we haven’t seen around in awhile and invite them back to church

  • We want to be able to gather together after a full summer of vacations and activities—we miss our church family!

  • We will celebrate coming back together (and new small groups) with a BIG family lunch right after service.

Launch Sunday Lunch | August 20th

Immediately following our morning service on August 20th, join us for a great big, all church, old-school potluck lunch! Here are the details:

  • We’ll provide the entree (chicken)

  • You provide the sides & desserts (gluten free options are welcome)

  • Bring your sides & desserts to the Fellowship Hall in the morning before service.

  • After church, head down toward the Fellowship Hall to get in line to grab a bite, and find a seat in the Fellowship Hall or Student Center (we’ll have people around to help you find your way)

New Wednesday Night Equip Classes | August 23rd

We have two new Wednesday night Equip Classes coming this fall:

  • Women’s Bible Study: Breathe: Making Room for Sabbath.

  • Faith Essentials: What we believe, why we believe it, and what we should do about it.

    • Led by Cameron Frank and Joe Pellegrin

    • Cost: Free

Whiz Kids Volunteers Needed

Whiz Kids is a faith-based, volunteer tutoring and mentoring program. Cherokee Hills has partnered with Tulakes Elementary for fourteen years to teach kids Bible truths and help them with reading and homework.

Whiz Kids meets on Wednesdays from 3-5 pm during the school year. We will be starting the new school year in September. We need tutors, substitute tutors, and cooks.
